Welcome back, Creator!

In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day this past weekend, let's toast to a little-known tidbit: The man of the hour, St. Patrick himself, wasn't Irish— I recently learned he was born in Britain!

That's right. The patron saint of Ireland, famed for all things emerald and shamrock-clad, hailed from a land across the sea. So next time you're tipping back a green beer or donning a leprechaun hat, remember you're celebrating a Brit who became an Irish icon! 🍀

In today’s issue, I will examine a recent academic study finding that brands get better ROI when working with nano and micro creators than larger creators.

Trivia Question: What is a good conversion rate for a squeeze page generated from short-form video content as of 2024? (The Answer is at the end of the Newsletter.)

You Can Weild Mighty Power With Your Small Audience

Having more followers doesn't always mean better interaction with each one. A large study looked at sales information from many paid promotions to see how much money they made and how much they cost.

It was found that smaller social media stars, known as nano and micro creators, did better than the big stars in three areas: how much money they made for each follower, for each person they reached, and how good of an investment they were.

Even though the big stars brought in three times more money, they cost 18 times more than the smaller creators. This study focused on direct-to-consumer fashion and beauty brands and looked at creators with between 1,000 and 1.4 million followers. It's interesting to see the serious study done on how profitable these creators are.

Opportunities For B2C Marketers

LinkedIn Unveils Wealthy User Base Eager for Luxury Spending

New research highlights LinkedIn's B2C marketing potential. Users have high earning power and tend to purchase training, coaching, services, and products.

  • In partnership with Interpret, LinkedIn's 2023 "Meet the Member" research reveals that LinkedIn users have 19% higher average household incomes and 9% larger median-owned assets than users on other platforms.

  • The platform's users display a strong interest in high-end products and experiences that align with their values regarding lifestyle and status.

  • Nearly half of the members (47%) plan to make significant purchases within the next year, with 40% eyeing luxury goods.

  • LinkedIn users prioritize quality, with 61% preferring to own the best version or model available and 58% eager to adopt new technology first—higher than any other platform.

  • Most leverage their networks for product discovery (68%) and recommend products to friends and family (71%), surpassing other networks.

  • These insights suggest LinkedIn could offer fertile ground for B2C marketers, especially in high-end product categories, challenging the platform's traditional B2B marketing dominance.

Mastering The Art Of The Invisible Sales Funnel: A Guide For Entrepreneurs

Tripwire Funnel Example

The invisible funnel starts by giving away tremendous value for free to the customer on the front page of their site and only changing these customers if they like it. It is like going to Starbucks and only paying for the latte if you enjoy it.

Imagine you're shopping online, but instead of getting lots of emails and ads to convince you to buy something, the store lets you try things quietly without pushing you. That's what an "invisible sales funnel" is. It's like a secret path that businesses use to help people buy stuff without making them feel pressured.

Creating an invisible sales funnel will largely depend on the type of business that you operate. The main issue is deciding how to offer your prospects a sample product or trial, so here are a couple of ideas.

Why are invisible sales funnels so cool?

  1. They make buying stuff faster because there aren't so many steps.

  2. Businesses don't have to spend as much time making ads or writing about their products; they let their stuff speak for itself.

  3. Unlike any other customer, you feel special because the sales are behind the scenes after consuming the product/service.

  4. Businesses talk more with people who might want to buy from them, making everything feel more personal.

  5. Even if you weren't initially interested in buying anything, you might change your mind after trying out their products or services.

  6. You can check out products or services firsthand, which can help you decide if you like them.

Using invisible sales funnels, companies can sell more without making people feel like they're just trying to make a sale. It's a win-win: customers enjoy a better shopping experience, and businesses can sell more without the hard sell.
